U.S. Attorney intervenes for accessibility at Bronx subway station

March 13 — Once again, the Office of the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District intervenes on the side of accessibility — this time in support of a case brought by Bronx Independent Living Services, Disabled In Action and Disability Rights Advocates against the MTA about the lack of subway station accessibility at the renovated Middletown Road station on the 6 line. The Southern District also intervened in Taxis For All Campaign v. the TLC. BCID is a plaintiff in two lawsuits about elevator accessibility (though not this case); we’re quoted in this article.
