April 24, 2018 — Whether it was more funding for independent living centers or increasing funding for a home-repair tax credit, the state’s 2018-2019 budget didn’t come through for people with disabilities, according to a report card released yesterday by the New York Association on Independent Living. NYAIL released its report card as BCID and other independent living centers visited legislators and attended an Assembly hearing to oppose assisted suicide legislation.
