April 13, 2018 — The Taxi and Limousine’s rules to require for-hire-vehicle companies like Uber and Carmel to provide accessible service, passed in December, are under attack in the courts. Last Friday, Uber, Lyft and Via filed a lawsuit in federal court against the suit, covered here in Politico NY. (Click on “read more” to reach link to article.) On Monday, federal Judge Koeltl heard arguments in a separate case, filed by Carmel and several other companies. (Update on April 25: After Judge Koeltl declined to grant a preliminary injunction, Carmel and its cohorts dropped their case.)
